With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend, we couldn’t help but think about our favorite Super Bowl snacks during a dumpster rental to a Costco in Chantilly, VA. Since some of our followers may be stocking up for their own dishes, we thought we’d share some easy, delicious football food inspiration.

Pizza Pockets

Ingredients:

  • 1 can crescent rolls
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite toppings (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, etc.)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees while you lay out the crescent rolls. Separate the rolls into rectangles so that there is a pre-cut diagonal line through the middle of each. Spread a tablespoon of sauce into each, followed by three tablespoons of cheese. Add toppings to your liking. Then, fold over the rectangles so that they become triangles with the ingredients inside. Press edges with a fork to seal and poke a small hole in each to allow heat to escape. Bake 13-15 minutes.

Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • Half of a lime
  • 3 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1 jalapeno
  • Salt and pepper
  • Large bag tortilla chips

After you’ve peeled and pitted the avocados, mash them in a medium bowl. Add cilantro and onion. Add juice from the squeezed lime. Dice jalapeno and add as much as you are comfortable with. Add salt and pepper to taste. If you’re a fan of sweeter guacamole, you may want to add tomato.

Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sliced bacon (cut into thirds)
  • 1 package beef cocktail wieners
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

Tip: It’s easier to use cold bacon, so make sure it’s refrigerated. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wrap the cold bacon around each cocktail wiener and secure using a toothpick. After you’ve wrapped all of the hot dogs, sprinkle with brown sugar to your liking. Bake for 40 minutes until sugar is bubbly.

These are just a few of the very simple recipes that have helped us in years past. We hope they make an appearance at your own Super Bowl viewing!
