A fire broke out earlier this week at a recycling center in Portsmouth, Virginia, not far from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The center is located on Frederick Boulevard.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The recycling center housed a great deal of cardboard that the center was planning to recycle. Luckily, the sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading to areas with a lot of cardboard.

Once fire crews arrived, the blaze was under control within 15 minutes according to the local fire department.
