Every once in a while, one of our dumpster deliveries really sticks with us. In this case, a recent rental by the Alexandria Seaport Foundation inspired us and we felt we needed to share their message.

The Alexandria Seaport Foundation is a non-profit located in Alexandria, Virginia on the Potomac River waterfront. For 20 years, this organization has used boat building to help disadvantaged youth learn the necessary skills to improve their lives. The program also gives on-site math and technology instruction to help these adolescents boost their grades. Through the Boat Building Apprenticeship Program, about 40 young men and women are helped annually. The projects cause them build social skills and better self esteem, in addition to the woodworking and academic skills being gained. You can visit the organization’s website to find out how to volunteer or help the cause in other ways.

At Roll Off Dumpster Direct, we’re proud to be able to assist clients like the Alexandria Seaport Foundation with dumpster rentals. Knowing that our dumpsters can help such goal-oriented organizations makes us feel good about the services we’re able to provide. We hope that this post brings awareness to the work being completed by the Alexandria Seaport Foundation. However, we also hope that it inspires some of our readers to do something that might better their own communities. As always, if that something requires the use of a dumpster or container, be sure to contact us and let us help the cause.
