On a recent delivery to a Burger King in Richmond, VA, we noticed something a bit different about the menu. Since we enjoy giving our customers more bang for their buck, we decided to share with you BK’s new value menu additions. Though, we hope you only take advantage of these items in moderation. After all, you can’t forget your healthy new year’s resolutions after just a few days.

These new temptations are priced beginning at just one dollar and sound delicious. Of the 20 King Deals Value Menu additions, two of the most featured are the new Rodeo Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the Rodeo Burger. Each topped with onion rings and sweet-and-spicy barbecue sauce, they are an affordable twist on some traditional sandwiches. Other value menu items include chicken nuggets, chicken wrap sandwiches, a double cheeseburger, and a fresh garden side salad (better for your resolutions!).

This revamp of the value menu appears to be a recent trend among fast food chains. This fall, McDonald’s also updated its “Dollar & More” menu to include a Buffalo Ranch McChicken Sandwich. Also jumping on the affordable spicy sandwich train is Wendy’s. For a limited time, they’re offering a Spicy Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and Spicy Chipotle Jr. Cheeseburger for just 99 cents each.

If you’re in a rush, grabbing one of Burger King’s new menu items might be a great idea. As always, we believe you shouldn’t have to pay top dollar for quality — so we’re glad to see some restaurants feeling the same way. Still, we hope you make wise, long-term diet decisions despite the low price temptation. We hope our customers are happy and healthy in 2014. Food for thought!
