The Ronald McDonald House charity has been around for many years.  Its primary purpose is to provide housing near hospitals for families of seriously ill children who may or may not be able to afford such housing.  There are houses in 58 different countries with a grand total of 7,200 rooms for families in need.

Roll Off Dumpster Direct recently made a delivery to the Ronald McDonald house in Potomac , Maryland.  Named as  one of “America’s 100 Best Charities” in 2001 and 2002 by Worth magazine, Ronald McDonald House is certainly doing a lot of good around the world, supporting families of children with debilitating illnesses.  Obviously, Roll Off Dumpster was excited to be a part of such a noble cause.

In addition to the Ronald McDonald House’s traditional houses, they have also started another program called Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, which are essentially a place for families who don’t need somewhere to stay overnight to regroup, change clothes, shower, eat, etc.  These are often right inside of the hospital and are a great way to rest for families who spend have spent countless stressful hours inside of an ICU or pediatric unit.

With the support of 144,000 volunteers and hundreds of millions in donations, Ronald McDonald House is able to provide services at 78% of the world’s best children’s hospital.  To learn more about the charity or to donate, visit the Ronald McDonald House website.
